President Alberto Fernández on Wednesday met with Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of Cuba, in the Eva Perón Hall of the Casa Rosada.

They discussed the importance of boosting the trade in medicines - particularly generic medicines for older citizens - and foodstuffs, as well as increasing the exchange of technology and research between both nations.

"We have a fraternal commitment to Cuba," Fernández said, stressing the ties between the two countries. "We are going to advance mutual cooperation" to strengthen the cultural and sporting ties between Argentina and Cuba.

Also present at the meeting were Foreign Minister, Felipe Solá; Deputy Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers, Cecilia Todesca; and Cuba's Foreign Affairs Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.
