579,300 foreign tourists arrived in Argentina in September 2019, an annual increase of 6.1% and a new record for the month, according to International Tourism Survey data prepared by national statistic agency INDEC.
Air arrivals represented 40% of incoming international tourism, while almost 21% of foreign tourists were from Brazil, 19% from Chile and 15.5% from Uruguay.
In the first nine months of the year, 5.4 million foreign tourists arrived in Argentina, an 8.8% increase from the same period last year.
Such positive growth in foreign tourism "cements the role of tourism in the economy as a driver of jobs and income," said Tourism Secretary Gustavo Santos.
