Argentina's food and beverage exports increased in volume by 16.1% over the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period of 2018, according to the national statistics agency, INDEC. In total, 35 million tons were exported, worth USD 19.4 billion.
September in particular saw a marked increase in the volume of exports: 3.9 million tons at a value of USD 2.28 billion, a 10.6 % increase in volume and 3.2% increase in value, compared to September 2018. Leading exports include: bovine meat (with a 72.2% volume increase compared to September 2018, at a total value of USD 297.7 million); soybean oil (7.1% volume increase with a total value of USD 292.7 million); peanuts (over 400% volume increase, with a total value of USD 67.1 million); poultry (68.5% volume increase with a total value of USD 42.3 million); and sunflower oil (19.4% volume increase with a total value of USD 41.8 million).
Leading export destinations include: Brazil, China, Chile, the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia and Algeria.
from January to September, Argentina's regional economies exported 24% of all food and beverages produced commercially in Argentina, at a total value of USD 4.6 million.
