The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries announced today that 24.9 million tons of corn were exported in the first eight months of 2019 alone, a volume greater than any other recorded for corn exports over a twelve-month period.
In Argentina, a record 57 million tons of corn were harvested in 2018/19, compared to 49.5 million in 2016/17 and 39.8 million in 2015/16.
Increases in corn production are indicative of better arable land rotation and an enrichment of natural resources.
Agriculture Minister, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, said “the national government’s decision to encourage production and strengthen exports is today getting results.”
